Khich Selfie Check your date

Privacy

Privacy
policy.

How we look after the details you share with us, in plain English.

We only ask for what we need to plan your celebration, we never sell it, and we won’t add you to a mailing list. This policy explains the detail.

Who we are

This website is run by Khich Selfie. We decide how the information you give us is used, which makes us its “controller” under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

For anything to do with your information, email us and we’ll reply personally.

What we collect

When you check your date

The booking enquiry asks for:

  • About you: your name and phone number, and your email address if you choose to give it.
  • About the celebration: the type of celebration, the date, the venue or town, and optionally the number of guests, how many hours you’d like the booth and how you heard about us.
  • About the booth: the booth, backdrop, print layout and any wording, names, theme or colours you’d like, plus any additional comments you add.

Your details from the first step reach us as soon as you press “Check availability”, so we can call you even if you don’t finish the rest. Each enquiry is given a reference number so the two parts stay together.

When you send a general enquiry

Your name, your email address or phone number, the type of enquiry, your message, and optionally a location and number of guests.

When you contact us another way

If you email us, message us on WhatsApp, or contact us on Instagram or TikTok, we receive whatever you send, along with the name and number or account it comes from.

When you visit the website

Like any website, our hosting provider receives technical information such as your IP address and browser type, which it uses to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. We don’t use analytics or advertising trackers, and we don’t build a profile of you.

How we use it

The law asks us to name a lawful basis for each thing we do with your information:

Keep the website secure and filter out spamOur legitimate interest in running a safe website

We don’t send marketing, we don’t sell or rent your details, and we don’t make automated decisions about you.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted providers to run the website and handle enquiries. They process your information only on our instructions:

  • Cloudflare hosts this website, processes each enquiry form as it’s sent, and keeps a secure copy of each enquiry in a database in Western Europe, so none is lost if an email fails. It also runs Turnstile, a check on our forms that stops automated spam by looking at signals from your browser. It doesn’t track you or show you adverts.
  • Resend delivers each enquiry to our inbox as an email.
  • Microsoft provides the email inbox where enquiries arrive.
  • Meta (WhatsApp) may send us an instant alert when a new booking enquiry arrives. The alert contains only your name, the type of celebration and the date.

If you contact us on WhatsApp, Instagram or TikTok, those platforms handle your messages under their own privacy policies. We would only ever share your details with anyone else if the law required it.

Outside the UK

Some of these providers are based in the United States or store information there. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by UK adequacy regulations, such as the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or by the standard contractual clauses approved for UK data.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that don’t become a booking: 12 months from our last contact, then deleted.
  • Bookings: for as long as we’re working on your celebration, then the financial records for six years, as UK tax law requires.
  • Photographs and videos from your celebration: three months after we deliver your online gallery, so you have time to download them. After that the gallery and all copies are permanently deleted. The only exception is any photographs you’ve agreed we can use in our portfolio.
  • An unfinished enquiry form: on your own device only, for up to 30 days (see Cookies and your browser).

Photographs and videos

Our booths photograph and film your guests, so we take particular care with the results.

  • Photographs and videos from your celebration belong to your celebration. We deliver the full gallery to you, the person who booked, through our online gallery, where it stays available to download for three months.
  • If a guest asks for their photograph or video to be sent to them at the booth, the phone number or email address they enter is used only to send it.
  • We only use photographs from your celebration on our website, in our lookbook or on social media if you’ve agreed. If you change your mind, tell us and we’ll remove them.
  • If you appear in a photograph on our website or social media and would like it taken down, email us and we’ll remove it.

Cookies and your browser

This website doesn’t set cookies of its own, and there are no tracking or advertising scripts. The spam check on our forms (Cloudflare Turnstile) runs only to tell people from bots, not to follow you around the web. Our fonts are served from our own website, so no font service sees your visit.

The booking enquiry form saves your answers in your own browser as you go, so nothing is lost if you close the page and come back. That copy never leaves your device. It’s deleted as soon as your enquiry is sent, and it’s erased automatically if the form is left unfinished for 30 days. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct anything that’s wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • ask us to limit how we use it, or object to how we use it;
  • ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, for example to a photograph being shown on our website.

Email [email protected] to use any of these rights. There’s no charge, and we’ll respond within one month. We may need to confirm who you are first.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page if the way we handle information changes. The date at the top of the contents shows when it last changed.
